PGA Tour pro jokingly replies to journalist for involving his name in YouTube vs pro golf debate

PGA Tour player Andrew Novak responded humorously to journalist Kyle Porter's post comparing YouTube and pro golf. Porter, who is a former CBS golf writer, took to X and called out the PGA Tour's current state.

Porter said that YouTube golfers are "more fun and entertaining" than the regular PGA Tour tournaments which go on for several hours. His post on X read:

"The PGA Tour has a lot of problems right now. Foremost among them might be that it's a lot more fun and entertaining to watch your favorite YouTubers play fascinating courses for 40 minutes than it is to watch Andrew Novak and Sam Stevens duke it out at Torrey for 400 minutes."

He referred to Andrew Novak and Sam Stevens's performance at the recently concluded Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, California. While Stevens finished second, Novak finished third. Rather than taking offense, Novak joked:

"While I get your point, why you gotta call me out (laughing emoji). I thought I kept it somewhat entertaining"

In another post, Porter called for "many changes" on the PGA Tour to sustain and increase its value but expressed doubts if anyone was willing to implement them. He further said that the PGA Tour's valuation of the $12 billion "bubble" was created by Tiger Woods' influence. Meanwhile, Paige Spiranac criticized Porter's approach and said that he shouldn't create rivalries between YouTube golf and pro golf.
