PGA Tour pro Kevin Kisner takes on a new role away from the golf field
PGA Tour pro Kevin Kisner has taken on a new role as the NBC analyst for the upcoming season of the PGA Tour. The American golfer finished outside the top 125 in the FedEx Cup Fall season standings but is still expected to play in limited events on the circuit next year. However, fans will be seeing him pretty often next year off the greens.
Kevin Kisner has been appointed as the lead golf analyst for the 2025 season for NBC, as reported first by Sports Business Journal. He is expected on the booth to cover several important tournaments including the Players Championship, The Open Championship, and the US Open among others. Speaking of the new role, Kisner said (via NBC):
“I’m humbled and grateful to have the chance to sit in the seat that many legends like Johnny Miller and Paul Azinger have sat in before me on NBC. I’m looking forward to offering a different voice and adding a new dynamic to the broadcasts, hopefully reaching more fans and telling things like it is."
"That’s what I think I do best. I’m also excited to continue to compete on the PGA TOUR amongst my peers, which I think will help me to tap into what these guys are really feeling on the course," he added.
Notably, Kevin Kisner was in the booth for NBC several times in the 2024 season, replacing Paul Azinger, who ended his contract with NBC last year. Kevin was a golf analyst in tournaments such as the 2024 Sentry, the WM Phoenix Open, and the Players Championship.
Kevin Kisner to play for Tiger Woods' TGL series in 2025
While fans will be seeing Kisner in the booth in 2025, he will also be playing in the most anticipated golf series, TGL. The American golfer has joined the upcoming tech-infused series, created by Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods along with Mike McCarley. Although it was planned to start in 2024, it was postponed and now will finally make its debut on January 7, 2025.
TGL will feature an exclusive field of some renowned golfers in the world. There are a total of 24 players playing in teams of four, and Kisner will be playing for Jupiter Links Golf Club. The team also has Tiger Woods, Max Homa, and Tom Kim.
Meanwhile, this season on the PGA Tour, Kevin Kisner has struggled with his game. Out of 23 tournaments he played, he missed the cut in 17 and finished in 196th place in the Fall season FedEx Cup standings. His best finish of the season was T29 at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
His other good finishes this season were T72 at the Valero Texas Open, 68 at RBC Heritage, T65 at Charles Schwab Challenge, T65 at ISPS Handa Championship, and T33 at the 3M Open
