PGA Tour Star Max Homa takes sharp jab at politics twitter after 2024 Presidential Election
Max Homa was not unaware of the current political context in the United States. In the midst of the presidential election in which Donald Trump was elected, Homa posted on his X account (formerly Twitter) a message addressed to those who talk about politics on this social network.
A few days ago, Homa had posted a message saying that he was leaving "Golf Twitter" for "Politics Twitter" because everyone there was "rational and calm". This Wednesday, November 6, the player reposted his own message with a sarcastic tone:
This post by Max Homa was published one day after Donald Trump won the presidential election in the United States. Trump will serve a second term as US President.
The President-elect himself made sure that golf was very present during his campaign and especially on election day. For example, Trump had reigning US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau in the audience when he gave his victory speech.
The day before, he had spoken about negotiations between the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the PGA Tour. Trump assured that he could help reach a final agreement and that it would take him "the better part of 15 minutes" (via NUCLR GOLF).
During his campaign, Trump also appeared as a guest in a video on DeChambeau's YouTube channel. He also talked golf during his presidential debate with president Joe Biden, before the latter dropped out of the race.
What's next for Max Homa?
Max Homa finished the PGA Tour regular season tied for 46th in the FedEx Cup standings, making him eligible for all 2025 Signature Events. However, he has already played in two FedEx Cup Fall events (Procore Championship and ZOZO Championship).
There are two events remaining on the FedEx Cup Fall schedule for which Homa has not yet committed. However, it is likely that he will participate in at least one of them to prepare for the next season.
The Nedbank Golf Challenge, the third event on the 2025 season of the DP World Tour, will be played December 5-8, 2024. Homa is the defending champion, so he could travel to South Africa to defend his title.
The golf calendar does not have any other commitments for Homa for the remainder of 2024. However, he could still be invited by Tiger Woods to the Hero World Challenge. In the field of that tournament, there are still three spots to be filled.
Homa will start the 2025 PGA Tour season playing The Sentry, the first Signature Event of the year. The tournament will be played at its usual venue in Hawaii, starting on January 2.
That same month, the new TGL league led by Woods and Rory McIlroy will begin. Max Homa will debut on the second date of the circuit (January 14) facing Los Angeles Golf Club as part of the Jupiter Links Golf Club team.
