PGA Tour star Michael Kim reveals his favourite club of 2024 as he announces he’s now an uncle

PGA Tour star Michael Kim recently shared a fun recap of his year on social media. As he reflected on the past year, he also listed his favorites in terms of golf and also made a special announcement.

He had several categories laid out for his 2024 throwback, including his favorite golf club. Titleist has been a long-time sponsor of the US golfer, so Kim naturally chose his new GT2 Titleist driver. He wrote in an X post:

"My favorite club for the yr: Shameless sponsor Titleist plug here. My new GT2, Titleist driver. I added a little bit of lead tape on the toe to take the edge off my pull draws. And I also shortened it a tiny bit to 44.5,"

He further added:

"I lost about 1 mph ball speed on avg but gained dispersion control. I put it in play starting at Shriners and from there I avg about .3 strokes gained OTT where I was -.25 for the yr. A massive difference."

A few minutes after this reveal, Kim shared an endearing personal news that he had just become an uncle and asked his fans if they had any advice for him.

"I also became an uncle yesterday! Any uncle advice?"

As heartfelt messages started flooding his comment section, he soon went back to sharing his fun recap list.


What was Michael Kim's favorite event of the year?

Michael Kim revealed that his favorite event of the year was the Players Championship. The 31-year-old has experienced some ups and downs in his career, losing his PGA Tour in 2021. regaining it for the following season and returning to the Tour in 2022.

As such, Kim participated in the Players Championship this year after a while. While not technically a Major, he highlighted it's importance for every golfer.

"Favorite event of the yr: Players Champ. I hadn’t played it in a few years so it was great to go back to the premier event of the pgatour. I totally get that you all don’t think of it as a major but everything feels different there,"

The 31-year-old further talked about the "top tier event."

"You can tell that the pgatour truly cares about running a top tier event. The clubhouse, gym, food, turnout is all at a different scale. Even more impressive than some of the other majors I’ve been to. Everything is run top notch. As a player, it might not be the Masters but every player really wants to win the Players."

When it came to choosing his least favorite event, Michael Kim pleaded the fifth in a hilarious X post. He tactfully avoided giving a clear answer to the question.

"I plead the 5th lol. All jokes aside, there are better and worse events but each tournament really tries its hardest to run a good event. I try and take a lot of gratitude and respect to all the tour events that I get to play."

He later listed his favorite and least favorite shots, best player dining, etc.
