Rickie Fowler outlines the one thing he wants on his resume by the time he's done with his PGA career
Earlier this month at the Sanderson Farms Championship, Rickie Fowler returned to professional golf for the first time in nearly three months. Fowler, who was on a break from the game, did very well at the tournament as he registered a top-20 finish, landing at T16.
After his outing at the Sanderson Farms Championship, Fowler will now play at the Shriners Children's Open this week. Ahead of the tournament, the 35-year-old, in a press conference at TPC Summerlin, talked about the one thing he wants on his resume by the end of his time on the PGA Tour.
Fowler said (via ASAP Sports),
"Yeah, I mean, if you can remove yourself from a situation, because you always want more, but to go back and just think about ultimately what I wanted to do as a kid my dream was just to play on the PGA TOUR and win on the TOUR. We've taken care of that, and it's nice to have that in our back pocket, but, yeah, reassessing and having that behind us, like I said, as competitors out here you continue to want more even if you accomplish all the things you kind of dreamed of doing."
He added:
"So those kind of reassessing and setting new goals. For me being close in majors and then to having some -- a few off years, getting back to playing a bit more how I did two seasons ago and just playing some good golf and put myself in position to win tournaments. You know, be nice to be able to have a major, if not multiple, on the resume by the time I'm done with this."
In his professional career, Rickie Fowler has never won a Major championship. However, it's worth noting that six of his ten professional victories to date have come on the PGA Tour. His last professional victory came at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in 2023.
