Rory McIlroy commits to play the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Rory McIlroy recently announced his commitment to play in the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The event will be played from January 30 to February 2, and will be the Northern Irishman's season opener on the PGA Tour.
The news was announced on the tournament's official Instagram handle. The account posted a picture of Rory McIlroy and captioned it:
"Christmas came early. See you at Pebble, @rorymcilroy!
This will be McIlroy's third appearance in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He was cut in 2018 and tied for 66th in 2024.
Typically, Rory McIlroy begins his competitive year playing on the DP World Tour and 2025 will be no exception. The Northern Irishman will begin his season with a title defense at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic before heading to Pebble Beach.
McIlroy finished the 2024 season with four wins and four runner-up finishes. Two of his wins came on the DP World Tour (Hero Dubai Desert Classic, DP World Tour Championship) and the other two on the PGA Tour (Zurich Classic at Vidanta, Wells Fargo Championship).
His runner-up finishes included one in a major championship (US Open) and three on the European Tour (Dubai Invitational, Irish Open, BMW PGA Championship).
The Northern Irishman capped off his season by winning The Crypto.com Showdown, where he teamed up with Scottie Scheffler to take on Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau.
