Scottie Scheffler details his post PGA Tour season plan, considers break from golf
Scottie Scheffler has had quite a season, which is finally coming to an end this week at the Tour Championship. He already has his post-season plans in place, as he’s looking to take a break from golf after the Presidents Cup.
Scheffler won six titles this season and is leading the FedEx Cup race. He will be in action this week at the Tour Championship, the third and final event of the playoffs.
During the pre-event press conference on Tuesday, August 27, Scottie Scheffler shed light on his post-season plans.
"Well, we have Presidents Cup in three weeks, but after that I'll certainly be taking a break, doing some other stuff for a little bit. Start ramping up a little bit in the fall. But yeah, I'll definitely take some time," he said.
The Presidents Cup will take place at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, from September 24 to 29.
Scheffler has had a memorable season so far, winning six titles, including the Masters Tournament and the Players Championship. Additionally, he won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics. Now, he has a chance to conclude the season on a high note with a FedEx Cup victory.
"It's good to be back," he added. "In a nice position going into the week. Yeah, it's good to be back here at East Lake. It's obviously everybody's goal at the beginning of the year to have a chance, and going in the first spot, no better opportunity than where I'm sitting. Looking forward to the week."
Scheffler has an 1193-point lead over Xander Schauffele but will need to have a good week to win the FedEx Cup.
