Scottie Scheffler has one word for journalist questioning golf is “too easy” for him now

Scottie Scheffler had a one-word reply to a journalist who asked if golf is too easy for him. The American golfer is arguably having his best season, winning four tournaments in 2024, including the Masters at Augusta. The World No. 1 maintained his dominance at the ongoing Memorial Tournament after taking the lead following Friday's round.

Scheffler hasn't missed a single cut since the beginning of the 2022-23 season. During the press conference at the 2024 Memorial Tournament, a journalist asked Scheffler if the game was really "too easy" for him. However, the two-time Major winner had a one-word reply to the question, and he quickly responded with a big "No." Scheffler further explained:

"Easy is definitely not the right word. You know, I feel like what I love about the game is how difficult it is, you know, I love coming out here competing against the best players in the world on the best golf courses, and this is obviously a pretty challenging track."
"You know, I really just love competing out here, and I don't really think about whether or not it's easy or hard and some days, I play good and some days, I don't and outside of that you know, I'm just out here trying to compete now," he added. (3:09-3:33)

Having competed in 12 events in 2024, Scheffler was fortunate to cut in all of them. He had recorded four victories, two runner-up finishes, and 11 top-10 finishes.

It is important to note that Scottie Scheffler teed it up at this week's Memorial Tournament, which started with its first round on Thursday, June 6, at the Muirfield Village Golf Course. Scheffler took a fabulous three-stroke lead after the second round on Friday, June 7.
