Scottie Scheffler reflects on the change in his game after becoming a dad

Apart from a successful 2024 season on the golf course, Scottie Scheffler also had a great year in his personal life. On 8 May, Scheffler's wife Meredith gave birth to their son Bennett, and the golfer introduced him to the world with a post on Instagram on 13 May.

Since the birth of his son, Scheffler has experienced a lot of success on the golf course. During his recent appearance on Pardon My Take on YouTube, the World No. 1 golfer was asked if he felt like he is a better golfer now that he is a father.

Scheffler answered:

"I think part of it has helped me mentally, because like you said golf can be tough. And I think sometimes I'm we can all be our own harshest critic and so when it comes to like how I'm performing on the golf course sometimes when I get off the course and after a tough day I'll look at myself and be like well what would I do if this was Bennett what would I tell him after the day. And so part of that has been really helpful. And then when you get home I mean it's one thing for your parents and Meredith and everybody to say that they don't care what you shoot but at the end of the day it means a lot to me."

Scheffler further added that when he gets back home, walks through the door, and sees Bennett greeting him, he forgets everything else. He said it's an amazing feeling.

Since the birth of Bennett, the World No. 1 golfer has won three events on the PGA Tour. He also won a gold medal for Team USA at the 2024 Olympics. In his most recent outing on the golf course, Scheffler won the Tour Championship, thus winning the FedEx Cup.
