Scottie Scheffler's caddie Ted Scott earns over $5,000,000 in 2024: Full earning explored
Ted Scott has been caddying for Scottie Scheffler since the latter’s first PGA Tour win in 2022. This week, the duo won again in The Bahamas as Scheffler successfully defended his Hero World Challenge title. The World No. 1 golfer bagged the $1,000,000 winner’s paycheck with the victory at Albany Golf Club. Scott got 10 per cent of it as usual.
Scheffler had a stellar year in 2024. The golfer clinched a total of nine victories, including the Hero World Challenge. With Sunday’s victory, the reigning FedExCup champion took his yearly earnings to a whopping $55,228,358. Interestingly, his caddie has been earning big as well as he normally pockets 10 per cent of earnings if a caddie’s player wins, 7 per cent for a top 10 and 5 per cent for making the cut.
According to the Golfweek, Scott’s yearly earning sums up to $5,338,504 for the season. It is pertinent to note that the sum could be higher as several players choose to pay their caddies different sums above the usual cut depending on their relationship.
Scottie Scheffler's caddie Ted Scott’s 2024 earning breakdown
It is pertinent to note that Scottie Scheffler won The Masters this year. The 28-year-old earned $3,600,000 for the win. As per PGA Tour’s payment structure, caddie Scott earned $360,000 from the event. However, his biggest paycheck came at the Tour Championship as the world champion golfer bagged a whopping $25,000,000. His bag man pocketed $2,500,000, around half of his yearly income, from the big win alone.
However, there remains some uncertainty regarding the payment for the PGA Championship. Scheffler finished T8 in the competition held at the Valhalla Golf Club and earned $521,418 for the result. Scott should’ve earned $36,500 for the event, however, he skipped the third round of the competition weekend to attend his daughter’s graduation.
Despite this, Ted Scott’s $5,338,504 earning beats several PGA Tour golfers’ earnings for the year, including the likes of two-time winner Austin Eckroat, 2023 FedEx Cup winner Viktor Hovland and Hero runner-up Tom Kim.
