Scottie Scheffler set to be a panel speaker on ESPN's College Game Day

World no. 1 Scottie Scheffler is set to appear as a panel speaker on ESPN's College Game Day on Saturday. He will pose alongside host Rece Davis and a panel of analysts.

2024 has arguably been the best season of Scheffler's career. He has picked up seven PGA Tour titles, and also won the Masters, FedEx Cup and the Olympic gold medal. He is currently at the top of the global leaderboard as well. Now he will be present at the marquee college football match-up between Texas and Georgia on Saturday through ESPN's College Game Day.

The US golfer graduated from the University of Texas in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in finance. He played golf at the collegiate level and was named the 2015 NCAA div. 1 Freshman of the Year. He also played a key role in Texas' runner-up finish at the 2016 NCAA Championship. A true Texan, he has often mentioned the Texas-Oklahoma football match to be special for him.

After graduation, Scheffler got in the Korn Ferry Tour through Q-school in his first attempt. He earned his PGA Tour status as the 2019 Player of the Year. The rest is history.

This will be second time the 28-year-old will be appearing on College Game Day. He had made his debut on the show in 2022. He was surprised at the event with the announcement that he had been crowned PGA Tour Player of the Year with 89% votes.

US golfer Scottie Scheffler appeared on the Barstool Sports' Pardon My Take podcast in September. The podcast was released just over a week after the start of the 2024 NFL season.

Scheffler mentioned that he and his wife, Meredith, had fallen into an "awesome" Sunday routine for the NFL last year.

"Sundays are such great days, like, I love the NFL and we got into a good routine last year of like waking up, I'd watched Sports Advisors and then we go to church, come home, place some bets and then just sit around and watch football. It's awesome."

Stu Feiner is a sports betting analyst and one of the hosts on Barstool Sports. His mention by Scottie Scheffler had suprised the podcast hosts and one of them joked that "it was the right way to do it." Feiner himself took to social media to thank the world no. 1 for the acknowledgement.

The US golfer will next be seen in Albany as he defends his Hero World Challenge title in November.
