A look into Jason Day's performance at the 2024 Open Championship
Jason Day kicked off his performance at the 2024 Open Championship with a first round of three birdies and five bogeys (2 over). He improved significantly on Friday, carding one of the few bogey-free rounds of the event so far with three birdies (3 under).
Day entered the so-called "moving day" at 1 under and tied for 7th. However, he quickly lost ground with consecutive bogeys on the 1st and 2nd.
The Australian recovered and played the rest of the front nine bogey-free with two birdies to reach the back nine in even par. He again struggled at the start, bogeying the 10th and 13th.
Day is currently 1 over for the tournament, which puts him in a share of 15th place.
The Australian has played in 11 editions of the Open Championship, making the cut nine times. He has four top 25 finishes, including two top 5s. His best career finish has been a tie for second at Royal Liverpool in 2023.
