Tennis legend Andy Murray embarks on journey to become a scratch golfer, sticks to the word made during retirement

Tennis legend Andy Murray is finding time to enjoy on the greens after retiring from the sport last month. Recently, he shared a story on his social media account, where he was seen practicing some golf shots.

Andy Murray retired from tennis after the 2024 Paris Olympics. However, before that event, he opened up about his retirement plans during an interview in July. Murray hoped to spend time with his family post-retirement and also expressed his desire to "play a lot of golf," hoping to become a scratch golfer. He said (via Mirror):

“Initially, I want to be at home with my family. I want to spend a lot of time with my kids and my wife, so I won't be on the road much, I know that. I'll play a lot of golf - I want to become a scratch golfer. I've always loved playing golf, but because of the issues with my back, I haven't played for five or six years," Murray said.

On September 4th, Andy Murray shared a picture on his Instagram account, offering a glimpse of his first-ever golf lesson en route to his goal of becoming a scratch golfer. The three-time Grand Slam winner even asked his followers to suggest some tips to improve his golfing skills.

"First ever golf lesson today on the journey to become a scratch golfer 😁 any tips welcome!" he wrote.
