“That little extra” – Throwback to when Phil Mickelson celebrated his PGA Championship win by drinking wine off the trophy

Phil Mickelson drank his favorite wine in the Wanamaker trophy after winning the 2021 PGA Championship. Mickelson adored the Bordeaux wine, which he poured into the trophy and drank after popping a glass of his favorite Nana Cabernets.

The American golfer Tweeted a video on his account celebrating his wife Amy's birthday in 2021. He wrote in the caption:

"Brought the Wanamaker to Amy’s birthday celebration. The wine had an extra ingredient this time - just a dash of victory. Tastes so good!"

"First sip from the Wanamaker Trophy," Phil said in the clip before adding, "I’m going with a bottle that my good friend Tor Kenward sent: Tor’s Black Magic, probably my favorite wine, certainly from Napa.”

He continued:

“I know the wine is good, but there’s something about the Wanamaker that gives it that.. little extra!”

Phil Mickelson has won two PGA Championships in his career, but unfortunately, he is now barred from competing on the Tour after joining LIV Golf. Nonetheless, he will join the PGA Tour players at Augusta National next week.
