"They didn't have the best day"- Jon Rahm confident on Bryson DeChambeau, Joaquin Niemann despite the duos rough start to LIV Golf Greenbrier

Jon Rahm had another great start in LIV Golf, firing a 6-under 64 in the opening round of the LIV Golf Greenbrier. However, he is not getting complacent and believes that Joaquin Niemann and Bryson DeChambeau can still make a comeback despite their poor start.

On Friday, August 16, Rahm shot a 64 and was one stroke behind the lead after the first round at Greenbrier. He made four birdies and also picked up an eagle on Day 1 at the White Course. Nieman shot 67, while DeChambeau carded 68 in the opener.

During the post-round interview, Rahm was still careful with his words, despite the strong start.

"I think that's something maybe it's more in my mind," he said. "This is the beginning, right? I just want to start the right way. It's always a joy to play with players like Bryson and Joaquin. They didn't have the best day, especially Joaquin on the greens. He played beautifully to the green and didn't make any mistakes."

"So I wouldn't be surprised if those two were to make a comeback on the weekend. They're more than capable. One of them has done it, you know, with shots to spare, right? So there's still a long way to go before thinking about the individual championship," he added.

When will Jon Rahm tee off at the LIV Golf Greenbrier, Round 2?

Jon Rahm is grouped with Brooks Koepka, Matt Jones, and Jon Rahm for the second round of the LIV Golf Greenbrier. The group will resume play from the seventh hole on Saturday, August 17, at 11:15 a.m. ET in a shotgun start.

Rahm is placed alongside Koepka, Rahm, and Richard Bland after the first round. Last month, we ended his title drought after winning the LIV Golf UK. Since then, he has made top-ten finishes at the Open Championship and the Olympics. Additionally, he is sitting behind Joaquin Niemann in the season standings.
