“They are just golf nerds” – LPGA star Hannah Green on her dinner experience with Jason Day and his Olympic partner

Hannah Green has referred to Jason Day as a golf nerd after having a team dinner for a couple of days at the 2024 Olympics. She admitted that the women golfers weren't used to talking as much about golf as their male counterparts.

After seeing Jason Day and Min Woo Lee represent Australia in the Olympics, the fans will now see Hannah Green and Minjee Lee in action at the Olympics golf women's event. The event is set to begin on Wednesday, August 7, at Le Golf National.

During the pre-event press conference for the 2024 Olympics, Green was asked about her experience of the team dinner with Jason Day and Min Woo Lee.

"It seems like the guys talk much more about golf than we do," Green replied. "Even yesterday they were just talking about golf swing positions and things like that. I honestly don't talk about that at all. Sometimes even at the golf course, I don't even talk about it.
"They are just golf nerds. But it was fun. It's been a good atmosphere the last couple dinners. Obviously they have headed off back to the States now. But just to hang out with them in a different environment has been a lot of fun but we are talking about food a lot," she added.

Minjee Lee also repeated Green's words, stating that women golfers hardly talk about golf this much during dinner.

"Jason Day was air gripping and stuff like that, all the golf mechanisms," she said. "A little different perspective of what we talk about and how when we have dinner, we don't talk about golf at all. It was just nice, just a different perspective that he has and what Min has."

Hannah Green added that they usually talked about what they were eating.

"I guess the boys went to the same Italian restaurant four times this week and we went there last night, and they already knew what was good to order on menu and then we talked about what we typically eat on the road and things like that," she added.

When will Hannah Green tee off at the 2024 Olympics women's golf event?

Hannah Green is grouped with Charley Hull (Great Britain) and Rose Zhang (USA) for the first two rounds of the 2024 Olympics women's golf event. The trio will take off on Wednesday at 3:44 am ET.

The first round of the Paris Olympics 2024 women's golf event will start at 3:00 am ET, with Perrine Delacour (France), Stephanie Meadow (Ireland), and Manon de Roey (Belgium) being the first group of the day.
