"They were kind of on him" - Andy Ogletree says the rowdy fans at LIV Golf UK made up songs about Jon Rahm
Andy Ogletree said that the fans were cheering Jon Rahm during the second round of LIV Golf UK as the duo was paired together for the round. He said he enjoyed the banter and creativity of the fans at JCB Golf and Country Club.
On Saturday, July 27, Ogletree played the second round of LIV Golf UK alongside Abraham Ancer and Jon Rahm. He shot another 66 to take the 36-hole lead at Rocester. Rahm, on the other hand, slipped three spots below after carding 1-under 70.
During the post-round interview, Ogletree detailed his experience playing alongside Jon Rahm. He revealed fans were creating songs for the Spaniard and were singing 'Jonny, Jonny Rahm,' on every hole.
"It was fun," he said. "Today the crowds were massive, and playing with Jon, they were kind of on him, not really on me. I enjoyed watching all the banter and listening to some of the things.
"They (fans) are very clever and some of the songs they make up are pretty interesting. It adds a good fun to it, and I hope they all have a good time and enjoy because without them we wouldn't be sitting up here," he added.
Reflecting on his performance, Andy Ogletree said he had a slow start and made 'lag putts' on the 1st and 3rd holes. However, the putter got hot after that, and it was 'solid golf' for the rest of the round.
Ogletree has a two-shot lead over Cameron Smith and Tyrrell Hatton, who shot a bogey-free 66 on Saturday.
