"They were rooting for Jon Rahm" - Patrick Reed details playing alongside the LIV Golfer at the Spanish Open

Patrick Reed is joined by LIV compatriot Jon Rahm at the Open de Espana (formerly known as the Spanish Open), at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. After three rounds, he shared how playing alongside Rahm is fun and that the crowd present was rooting for the Spaniard.

Reed said (via ASAP Sports):

“It was awesome. The amount of people that were out there, it was amazing. You always know playing with Jon, it's going to be a lot of fun and it's good to be out there. Just having the crowd around and get going was a lot of fun. The great thing with these fans, obviously everyone knew who they were rooting for; they were rooting for Jon. But they were very supportive of myself and Sam, and they were a respectful and amazing group of people out there watching us play."

Reed also reflected upon his Saturday round.

“More frustrating honestly today. I hit the truck driver a lot better. Hit nine fairways I think today. Had one or two of them that were just in the first cut, which were fine," Patrick Reed said. "Yeah, just hit a lot of quality iron shots to decent spots. Just didn't quite see the lines on the greens like I did the first two days. A bunch of burned edge, a couple chips that looked like they were going in that just kind of ended up burning the edges.”

Patrick Reed scored four birdies in the third round to settle at 68. He had two and seven birdies in the first and second rounds respectively.
