“This an absolutely bulls**t comment” – Greg Norman’s son claps back at fan for opinion on his father’s alleged ousting from LIV
Greg Norman's son, Greg Norman Jr., recently hit back at a fan online who justified the veteran golfer's removal as LIV CEO by alleging that he was not a team player.
It was recently reported that Greg Norman was set to be replaced as the CEO of LIV Golf. In response to these reports, he told Sports Illustrated that his contract was valid until August 2025, and even after that, his commitment to the Saudi-backed circuit was unquestioned.
On Monday, October 28, a fan named Bryan Wilson supported Norman's ouster from LIV, stating on X that the Saudis had lost trust in him.
"Good for Greg, if he is in or out of LIV makes no difference," he wrote. "2022 he was loud and outspoken but his owners muzzled Greg in 2023 and 2024. The Saudis are not completely dumb, it's obvious Greg in NOT a team player...ask his family and Chris Everate's husband, super dirty guy."
Norman Jr. didn’t take kindly to Wilson’s comments and clapped back at him.
"Well this an absolutely bulls**t comment Bryan," he wrote.
"My commitment to LIV has been unquestioned" - Greg Norman responds to the report of his departure from the league
Speaking to Bob Harig of Sports Illustrated, Greg Norman quashed the reports of him being replaced as LIV Golf's CEO.
"I'll answer it this way: My contract is through August of 2025," he told Sports Illustrated. "My commitment to LIV has been unquestioned and my commitment into the future is also unquestioned.
"Time will tell. Will there be a change in my role? My position and my role is to deliver 2025 and get our schedule done and all the things we need to do," he added.
For the uninitiated, there have been several reports that PIF was looking to replace Norman and had contracted Odgers Berndtson, a London-based human resources consulting firm, to search for a new CEO.
The former World No. 1 golfer has been LIV Golf's CEO since the league's inception. Under his supervision, the Saudi-backed circuit signed several superstars, including Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, and most recently, Jon Rahm.
LIV Golf recently completed its third season, with Rahm lifting the individual championship. Cameron Smith's Ripper GC won the team title in Chicago.
