"This is why Jordan is so popular" - Fans react to Jordan Spieth facing 'distractions' at the Valero Texas Open
Jordan Spieth enjoys an enormous fan base all around the globe. The three-time major champion won the 2021 Valero Texas Open by two strokes. However, while the American golfer was playing near the cart path, he faced a lot of distractions.
Fans were making noise cheering for the star when a volunteer put her arms up and asked everyone to be quiet. Spieth, being a gentleman, politely asked her to put her arms down as the shadow distracted him. A kid jumped in between and said:
"Are you going to do something stupid?"
and everyone took their phones out to film his shot.
Apparently, another kid soon ran underneath the rope and fell on the greens. Someone known to the kid dragged him back by his feet. After the kids left the path, Jordan took his shot and eventually made par.
The PGA Tour shared a video of the tournament on their social media page as the Valero Texas Open is just around the corner. Fans jumped into the comments section and wrote:
"This is why Jordan is so popular. (Outside of the fact that he is an excellent golfer)"
"If my kid did that he'd be grounded for life."
"Great shot from a bad lie! Go Jordan!"
"Jordan's gonna major this year."
