After the conclusion of the first round of golf in Mayakoba, Paul Casey is at the top of the leaderboard. He finished with a score of 6-under 65, thanks to birdies on his last three holes. Jason Kokrak is also tied for the lead alongside Casey on Friday.

Casey had a strong start to his round, going five under after ten holes. However, he stumbled with a double bogey on the next hole.

Nevertheless, he finished the round on a high note by scoring birdies on the final three holes at the El Camaleon golf course. Kokrak also had a solid first round, managing to avoid any bogeys and even securing a birdie with a chip-in shot.

Talor Gooch, Peter Uihlein, and Carlos Ortiz are currently tied for second place in the 54-hole event, trailing by two strokes.

Meanwhile, Dustin Johnson, the winner of the previous season, struggled with two consecutive bogeys, resulting in a score of 3-under 68. It's worth noting that Casey is part of the Crushers team.

Pieters began the event with a score of 76, while just one of the new competitors could score under par. Danny Lee managed to score 71, while Phil Mickelson got off to a strong start with three consecutive birdies but ultimately finished with a score of 72.
