“This is something that I truly believe in”: Scottie Scheffler pauses training for the FedEx Cup to become a golf teacher for one day

Scottie Scheffler is currently competing in the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship. Despite the importance of the current stage of the season, Scheffler took time out of his schedule to offer a clinic to amateur players using the GolfForever training software.

Scheffler is an ambassador for the software and has incorporated it as one of his training tools. The clinic was filmed and will air on the Golf Channel next Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time.

The PGA Tour released a promotional video for the show on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, showing details of Scheffler's training session with the amateur players. The session ended with a closest to the pin contest.

Before the contest began, Scottie Scheffler joked that he would be the "guinea pig" and test the greens as he would be the first to hit a shot. At another point in the promotional video, Scheffler is seen talking about his relationship with GolfForever. This was part of what he said:

"GolfForever is something that I care and I'm passionate about, so I want people to be able to use this product so they can play more golf."

Scheffler also told the amateur players:

"I don't just work with companies just for the financial benefits of it. This is something that I truly believe in, and I'm really glad that it's actually helping you guys play more golf."

GolfForever is a training software that includes an app and fitness equipment for swing training. It is currently priced between $348.99 and $453.96 on the brand's official website.

Scottie Scheffler's top sponsors at a glance

Scottie Scheffler works with a variety of sponsors, one of them being GolfForever. However, Scheffler has two sponsors that stand out above the rest: Nike and TaylorMade.

Nike has been Scheffler's apparel sponsor for a number of years and following the end of the brand's relationship with Tiger Woods, the current world number one is one of the main names in the brand's catalog, along with Rory McIlroy and Nelly Korda.

As for TaylorMade, Scheffler signed a multi-year deal with the brand after winning the Masters in 2022. However, the Texan has been using TaylorMade clubs since 2020.

The financial terms of these contracts are not public. However, Forbes estimated that Scheffler earned around $6 million in 2022 from sponsorships alone. Since then, his results have made him one of the most dominant players in the world of golf.

Scheffler has recently increased his involvement in promotional videos. He has been particularly active in videos produced by TaylorMade, joining other stars who are also sponsored by the brand.

One of the most memorable videos was for Christmas 2023 in which Scheffler and other players portrayed elves, while Tiger Woods played Santa Claus, renamed "Mac Daddy Santa".
