“Tiger and Elin are truly in a great place”- Tiger Woods relationship with ex-wife in good standing amidst legal battle with Erica Herman
With Tiger Woods' legal battle with Erica Herman in the limelight, it brings up his other failed relationships. He's had quite the dating history, especially after his divorce from Elin Nordegren.
The two were married for a while before Woods' infidelity caused them to split in 2009. Woods had cheated on her with multiple women. Despite that, the two have a pretty strong relationship, something he and his most recent ex cannot say.
A source said via The Miami Herald:
“Tiger and Elin are truly in a great place. He’s been so great with the kids, and that really brought her around to having a friendship with Tiger.”
The source also said:
“Friends think that Tiger still has strong romantic feelings for Elin. But Elin has been burned too much to think about a romantic relationship with Tiger.”
It should be noted that these quotes are from a while ago, so it's unlikely that Woods still has feelings for his ex at this time. Still, it highlights the stark difference between that failed relationship and his current one.
Woods said after their breakup that the two are pretty good co-parents:
“We’re able to pick up the phone, and we talk to each other all the time. … It’s fun,” Woods told TIME magazine in 2015. “She talks to me about her life, I talk to her about my life. We try and help each other out on all occasions. And we work through it with the kids, the parenting program. She is one of my best friends now, and it’s all because of my kids.”
Despite many reasons to have a bad relationship, the two are on good terms, which cannot be said for him and his other exes.
Tiger Woods and Erica Herman were rocky for a while
An insider recently revealed that Erica Herman and Tiger Woods' relationship had been rocky for a while before their subsequent breakup.
“Tiger and Erica started having a breakdown in their relationship over time and money. Erica thought Tiger was never at home, and Tiger thought Erica was spending too much and living too lavish of a lifestyle.”
Ultimately, it resulted in the lawsuit facing Woods now. It's one that alleges that he sexually assaulted Herman and that the NDA she signed is null and void as a result.
Tiger Woods' legal team refuted the claim, stating:
"Ms. Herman is not a victim of sexual assault or abuse sought to be protected by Congress when enacting the statute. Rather, Ms. Herman is a jilted ex-girlfriend who wants to publicly litigate specious claims in court, rather than honor her commitment to arbitrate disputes in a confidential arbitration proceeding."
The simple fact of her filing the lawsuit and citing the sexual assault is a way for her to break the NDA without facing legal action, but it remains to be seen what the courts will rule on.
Will they side with Woods and his team and say that Herman is a jilted ex? Or will Woods' alleged abuse come to light?
