Tiger Woods doesn’t rule out the possibility of being Ryder Cup Vice Captain, says Keegan Bradley ''hasn’t asked'' him
Tiger Woods was widely expected to be Team USA's captain ahead of the 2024 Ryder Cup. However, after Woods reportedly turned down the captaincy, Keegan Bradley was announced as the team captain at the Ryder Cup. The question now is who will be the team's vice-captain at the prestigious event?
During a press conference ahead of the 2024 Open Championship, Tiger Woods was asked if he would embrace the role of vice-captain for Team USA at the 2024 Ryder Cup. While Woods did not confirm or deny, he added that Keegan Bradley hadn't asked him to be the vice-captain yet.
While Woods has never captained Team USA at the Ryder Cup, he has experience of being vice-captain. The 15-time major winner has been a vice-captain for Team USA in two editions of the Ryder Cup (2016 and 2018). While the Americans won in 2016, they lost to the Europeans in 2018.
This is what the American golf legend had to say when asked about the vice-captaincy role:
Meanwhile, the 2024 Ryder Cup will be the first time Bradley will be captaining Team USA in his career. Hence, it might be beneficial for him to have someone like Tiger Woods as the vice-captain given the latter's experience in the tournament.
