Tiger Woods' ex-coach reveals who he thinks has the best golf swing

Hank Haney, Tiger Woods' former coach, has posted his opinion on X (formerly Twitter) about the player with the best golf swing. Haney did not choose his former student Woods, nor PGA Tour stars like Scottie Scheffler or Rory McIlroy, but gave his vote to Nelly Korda.

"People ask me who has the best swing on the PGA Tour, hard to say, there’s a lot of great ones, but this is the best swing in golf [a GIF of Nelly Korda's swing follows the text]," Tiger Woods' former coach posted on X.

Haney is an award-winning golf instructor who has worked with more than 200 PGA Tour professionals. Among his most notable students, in addition to Tiger Woods, is Mark O'Meara, winner of The Open Championship and The Masters Tournament, both in 1998.

Among his many accolades, Haney was named one of Golf Magazine's Top 100 teachers from 1984 to 2004 and was inducted into the World Golf Teachers Hall of Fame in 2019.

Haney is very active on his X account, where he regularly posts golf-related content. He frequently posts golf tips and opinions of all kinds related to the sport. He also frequently posts opinions on the controversy between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, as well as others of a political nature.

Nelly Korda's swing: Other experts share the opinion of Tiger Woods' former coach

Tiger Woods' former coach is not the only big name in golf who thinks Nelly Korda is an exceptional player. One of those who have praised her swing is men's world number one Scottie Scheffler.

After winning the 2024 RBC Heritage, Scheffler had this to say (via DKT Golf):

"We've all seen the golf swing. I wish I could see it more in person but we don't really run into them too much outside of some some TaylorMade shoots and stuff like that but, obviously some great golf."

Meanwhile, Jamie Mulligan, Korda's coach, had this to say in 2022 (via Golfweek):

"She’s it. She’s like almost nothing I’ve ever seen before. She’s got it all. She has the ability to make a hard sport look easy. As far as like the ability to match mechanics and tempo and mind over body over spirit and being like driven to be a great player, she’s a unicorn, you know."

Mulligan is also an award-winning golf instructor with more than 40 years of experience. He has worked with World Golf Hall of Famer Amy Alcott, as well as Jessica Korda and Patrick Cantlay. He has received numerous awards throughout his career, including the 2021 PGA Teacher and Coach of the Year.

Nelly Korda has won six tournaments in 2024, including five in a row. Her victories this season include the Chevron Championship, the second major of her career.
