Top 12 golfers on the American, European Ryder Cup point standings ft. Bryson DeChambeau and other LIV golfers

The Ryder Cup 2025 is less than a year away, and players from both the US and Europe are gearing up to book their spots in their respective squads. Although there is still a lot of time to go, the race has started, and each event is a points-earning opportunity for the players.

The 45th Ryder Cup will take place from September 25 to 28 next year at Bethpage Black Course, Bethpage State Park, Farmingdale, New York. While Luke Donald is returning as Team Europe’s captain after a successful stint in Rome, Team US has replaced Zach Johnson with Keegan Bradley.

This time, the rules for automatic qualification are similar for both teams, as the top six players in the respective teams' standings will secure a spot for the biennial event. Since the Ryder Cup is a PGA event, LIV Golfers are also eligible to compete. Last year, Brooks Koepka was the only one from the Saudi-backed circuit to play in the event.

The Ryder Cup points have been awarded to US players since the beginning of 2024, and currently, Xander Schauffele tops the list with 9,580.956 points. He has won two major championships and recorded 13 other top-10 finishes. Scottie Scheffler is a close second with 9,145.556 points. He won a whopping seven titles this season, including the Masters Tournament.

LIV Golf's Bryson DeChambeau is sitting in third place with 6,993 points. He won the US Open and also finished runner-up at the PGA Championship.

For Team Europe, the qualification period began with the British Masters at The Belfry. Rasmus Højgaard is leading the points list with 376.92 points. The Danish professional won the Irish Open last month and also finished third at the British Masters.

Rory McIlroy, who had two back-to-back runner-up finishes last month, is second with 354 points. Englishman Matt Wallace, who won the Omega European Masters, is in third place. Tyrrell Hatton (6th) and Jon Rahm (8th) are among the LIV Golfers competing for the spot.
