Viktor Hovland's season ends in disaster over injury concerns
The 2024 season has not been the best for Viktor Hovland. This year, the 2023 Tour Championship winner was not able to win a single event on the PGA Tour. In 16 appearances on the Tour this year, Hovland was able to finish in the top 10 on two occasions.
Back in August, the Norwegian golfer described his season as miserable. This misery seems to be continuing for Hovland, as reports suggest that he will miss the remainder of the season. As per Bunkered.co.uk, an unspecified injury will keep Hovland away from competing for the remainder of the season.
This means Hovland will be missing out on the DP World Tour's season-ending playoffs, which will be played in the Middle East this year. In total, the DP World Tour playoffs have $19 million up for grabs as the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship has a $9 million purse, while the DP World Tour Championship has a purse of $10 million.
In his last appearance on the professional golf circuit, Viktor Hovland was seen playing in the Tour Championship. After four rounds of golf at the East Lake Golf Club, Hovland finished T12 with a score of 69-71-65-66.

After this tournament, Hovland struggled to find form in his next outing but finished in the top 20 (T19) at The Genesis Invitational. The Norwegian golfer missed the cut at the 2024 Masters. However, in his second Major Championship outing, Hovland finished 3rd. Again, this performance did not give Hovland the needed momentum as he could not win a single tournament and failed to make the cut at the US Open and The Open Championship.
