WATCH: $250,000,000 American football star Peyton Manning takes a shot at golf
Peyton Manning is a well-known amateur golfer and one of the best among other sports stars. However, he recently proved that even the best can miss a golf shot.
Manning played a round of golf in which he executed a tee shot so poorly that the ball can be seen falling a few yards in front of him. The video of the moment was posted by the PGA Tour on its X account and received over 117,000 views in two hours.
Manning looked at it humorously. When he realized how badly his shot went, he turned to the crowd and asked:
Anyone see where that went?
The fans in attendance followed Manning's lead and laughed, then began chanting the famous "one of us" phrase used in golf environments when good players have bad moments on the course.
Peyton Manning is one of the all-time greats of the National Football League. He played 18 seasons as a professional, 14 with the Indianapolis Colts and four with the Denver Broncos. His net worth is $250 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
During his career, he won two Super Bowls (2006, 2015), the NFL Most Valuable Player Award five times (2003, 2004, 2008, 2008, 2009, 2013), the NFL Comeback Player of the Year (2012). He has also been inducted into seven Halls of Fame (Pro Football, College Football, University of Tennessee, Indiana, Louisiana, Colorado and Tennessee).
Peyton Manning and Golf
Peyton Manning has a well-known relationship with golf that has led him to not only improve the quality of his game, but to become deeply involved in the sport. His work in golf has even earned him several awards.
The most recent was the 2024 Ambassador of Golf Award, presented by the Northern Ohio Golf Charities Foundation. The award recognizes "an individual who has promoted the ideals of the game on an international level and whose concern for others extends beyond the golf course."
The award was presented to Manning last July at the PGA Tour Champions' Kaulig Companies Championship. Upon receiving the award, Manning said (via PGA Tour News Service):
"I'm very honored to receive this award. It's a distinguished list of individuals who have been named Ambassadors of Golf, and I'm proud to be listed with them. Golf has been a part of my athletic journey - from playing with my dad growing up to playing with teammates throughout my career, golf has been important to me."
Manning's service to golf includes his participation in several charity events, such as The Match, where he played twice in 2020 and once again in 2023, alongside stars such as Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Steph Curry.
He also served as the Honorary Chairman of the 2023 U.S. Amateur Golf Championship and is a regular player in the Memorial Tournament's Pro-Am event.
