Anthony Kim shared a message with his fans on Wednesday, October 23, and accompanied it with a video of his golf swing. He posted on X (formerly Twitter) where he currently has more than 19,600 followers.
Kim wrote that he only feels "disrespected" by "people I respect". He added that his daily motivation is to stay sober, his daughter and his goal to be an inspiration. He accompanied this text with three video clips showing him practicing his driver swing. The LIV Golf wildcard player usually posts such videos to showcase his training sessions.
Kim wrote:
"I only feel disrespected by people I respect so a few of u on X R luckily exempt. My #sobriety, being a #girldad & my ultimate goal of inspiring people thru my platform w addiction & #mentalhealth issues drives me everyday. Thankful & inspired by the heart."
Kim returned to professional golf in early 2024 after 12 years away from the sport. His return came on the heels of LIV Golf expanding its roster.
The "wild card" was created in the league and he was awarded one. Kim had retired early due to an Achilles tendon injury. At the time of his retirement, he had three PGA Tour victories, a Ryder Cup appearance, and was regarded as one of the best young players in the game.
Anthony Kim played in 11 of the 13 individual tournaments in the 2024 LIV season. His best finish was a T-36 at Greenbrier. He had some notable rounds like the 3rd at Hong Kong and also the 3rd at Greenbrier, shooting 5 under in both.
His results earned him $928,417 for the season. LIV Golf events do not make cuts, so all players in each tournament receive prizes regardless of their finish. It is unclear if Kim will return to LIV Golf for the 2025 season.
The latest from Anthony Kim on X
Anthony Kim posts frequently on X and has recently turned his social media attention to another topic. He spoke about the presence of transgender players on women's golf tours and women's sporting events in general.
The three-time PGA Tour winner is opposed to transgender players being allowed to compete on women's tours. Kim recently posted in support of a letter written by more than 275 female players opposing the participation of transgender players on the women's tour.
Kim also recently interacted with well-known television personality Caitlin Jenner on X. Jenner is a transgender woman who won an Olympic gold medal as a man in Montreal in 1976. Like Kim, Jenner opposes the inclusion of transgender athletes in women's competitions.
Kim's social media activity follows transgender golfer Hailey Davidson competing in the second phase of the LPGA Tour's Q-School.
