WATCH: Bryson DeChambeau crashes Jimmy Fallon’s monologue on The Tonight Show to let the audience touch the US Open trophy
Bryson DeChambeau crashed Jimmy Fallon's monologue to let the audience touch his US Open trophy. The American golfer emerged victorious at the recently concluded Major by defeating the now World No. 2 Rory McIlroy by just one stroke. In the thrilling finale, DeChambeau made a par on the concluding hole to win the second Major of his career.
Following his win, Bryson DeChambeau appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The host was giving his daily news update when he started talking about Bryson DeChambeau's incredible victory at the 2024 US Open.
Fallon congratulated DeChambeau on his win, saying:
"Finally, I want to say congratulations to Bryson DeChambeau, who won the US Open golf championship yesterday. Great match against Rory McIlroy. After the win, Bryson definitely had some fun with the fans."
A clip was then played showing DeChambeau celebrating his win with fans at the Pinehurst No. 2 Golf Course by allowing them to touch his trophy. Jimmy Fallon was amazed to see this and said:
"Isn't it amazing? He let everyone touch the trophy. Yeah, I'd like to touch the trophy. Roots, you guys should be able to touch the trophy. This whole audience should touch the trophy."
Before he could say more, Bryson DeChambeau entered the stage and allowed everyone to touch the trophy. He initially went to the band on the Fallon show and presented his trophy, allowing them to look at and touch it.
He then allowed Jimmy Fallon to touch it and moved to the audience, allowing everyone to touch his prestigious trophy. He later handed the trophy to Fallon, who returned it to the golfer.
It is important to note that US Open winners are allowed to keep the trophy with them for a year before they have to hand it to the winner of the next edition. Bryson DeChambeau is enjoying his amazing win at the Major. It was the second time he won the US Open, with the first victory coming in 2020.
In addition to going to Jimmy Fallon's show, DeChambeau celebrated his Major win with Donald Trump's son, Eric Trump, on Monday, June 17.
Eric Trump jokes about taking Bryson DeChambeau's US Open trophy home
Bryson DeChambeau celebrated his victory with Eric Trump by playing some golf shots at Trump Golf Westchester. The American golfer drank wine from his prestigious US Open trophy to celebrate the victory. He also played a few shots of golf in complete darkness at the golf course using glow balls.
Eric Trump and Larry Glick, EVP of development at the Trump Organization, took pictures with DeChambeau's trophy and later joked about taking it away with them on Instagram. Glick shared a picture of Trump and himself posing with the trophy, writing, "We're taking this back with us" with a laughing emoji and tagging DeChambeau.
With the next Major event approaching, fans have their eyes on the golfer to see if he can add another Major trophy to his name. He performed well at this year's Major events and will aim to win another one next month.
