“This is growing the game” – Paige Spiranac says Bryson DeChambeau reiterated the LIV Golf motto by winning the US Open 2024
Paige Spiranac was full of praise for Bryson DeChambeau for his heartfelt gesture after his US Open win. She commended the golfer for living up to his words after his epic triumph at Pinehurst.
On Sunday, June 16, DeChambeau fired a 1-over 71 in the final round of the US Open to win his second Major championship. He finished at 6-under to beat Rory McIlroy by one shot.
Following his win, Bryson DeChambeau walked through the spectators and let each one of them feel the trophy. Impressed by the gesture, Paige Spiranac wrote on X:
"I asked Bryson what’s his ultimate goal in life and he said it’s to grow the game of golf. This is growing the game. Really cool moment!"
Earlier, while addressing the fans on the 18th green, Bryson DeChambeau announced that he would let every fan present there touch the trophy.
"I want you to experience what this feels like for me," he said. "You were a part of this journey this week, and I want you to be a part of it for the after party."

The US Open 2024 slipped out of Rory McIlroy's hands after he missed two close puts on the back nine at Pinehurst on Sunday. Following the heartbreak, he skipped the media interview and flew back immediately after the final putt.
However, Paige Spiranac asked the fans to cut McIlroy some slack.
"He gave us everything he had on the course and gave us such an entertaining day," she wrote. "I feel for Rory right now and can’t even imagine how he’s feeling. Cut him a break"
The Northern Irishman started well on Sunday and had great momentum for the first 13 holes. He had picked up five birdies and made just one bogey until par 3, 15th. However, he made a couple of errors on the rest of the holes and bogeyed three of them to settle for a runner-up finish. Before his two missed putts, he was 496 for putting inside the 3-foot distance.
This was the second back-to-back year when McIlroy had to settle for a runner-up finish at the US Open. Besides, he has now made six consecutive top-10s in the season's third Major.
