WATCH: Bryson DeChambeau puts on fan's hat that flew onto the course at LIV Golf Andalucia

Bryson DeChambeau's popularity has grown significantly in recent times; to his extraordinary sporting results, he has added his social media presence focused on golf and a special relationship with fans, as demonstrated this Friday, July 12.

Bryson DeChambeau is currently playing the LIV Golf Andalucia at the Real Club Valderrama. At one point during the round, a spectator's hat flew into the ropes and landed near where DeChambeau was standing.The 2024 US Open champion was preparing to hit a shot from the fairway when he walked over to the hat, picked it up off the ground and put it on, much to the delight of the fans. DeChambeau then returned the hat to the fan. The moment was posted on LIV Golf's X (formerly Twitter) account and had more than 32,500 views in two hours.

Bryson DeChambeau has had excellent results so far this season. Although he has not won on LIV Golf yet, he has five top-10 finishes. As for the majors, he has three top 10 finishes in as many events, including his win at the U.S. Open (T6 at the Masters and runner-up at the PGA Championship).


A review of Bryson DeChambeau's first round at LIV Golf Andalucia

Bryson DeChambeau started his first round at LIV Golf Andalucia on the 3rd hole and parred his first four holes. He then made his first bogey of the day on the sixth hole. DeChambeau recovered well to make two birdies in his next six holes (no bogeys). However, he ran into trouble on the 14th (bogey) and 17th (double bogey).

With just one hole remaining, DeChambeau sits tied for 17th on the leaderboard at 2 over par. Dean Burmester currently leads the tournament at 4 under par.

Crushers GC, the team captained by DeChambeau, is currently T4 with a score of 3 over. Anirban Lahiri leads the team leaderboard, carding a 1-under performance to tie for sixth place overall. Meanwhile, the all-South African Stinger GC holds the top spot at 4-under par.

DeChambeau finished second at 11-under in the 2023 edition of the LIV Golf Andalucia. He finished one stroke behind champion Talor Gooch.

Across his 28 LIV Golf events, DeChambeau has amassed a collection of impressive results. He's secured two victories (Greenbrier and Chicago, both in 2023) and notched an additional nine top-10 finishes.

DeChambeau has also done well in team events. His team, Crushers GC, finished second in the 2023 season with two wins and four other top-3 finishes. Crushers GC have had a great season this year as well, as they are currently the top team with two wins and two top 3s.
