WATCH: Bryson DeChambeau scouts Shadow Creek ahead The Showdown

With the much-awaited 'Showdown' set to take place on Tuesday, Bryson DeChambeau's preparation is in full swing. He was seen practicing at Shadow Creek a day before the made-for-TV contest.

LIV Golf shared a video of DeChambeau working on his swing at the Las Vegas golf course with the caption:

Touted to be the ultimate PGA Tour vs LIV Golf face-off, 'The Showdown' will see DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka go up against Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. Although the primetime special falls in the line of The Match or the Netflix Cup, it varies in the format. The 'Showdown' will have 18 holes of match play.

The first six holes will be held in a fourball format, the next six in foursomes, while the last six holes will be a singles fixture. Crypto.com will be the official title sponsor as well as prize sponsor. The winners are reportedly going to be rewarded in millions.

Shadow Creek hosted the first edition of The Match, played between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. The game series, although unofficial, became very popular among fans, with different players being introduced in each annual edition.

Golf fans are on the edge as The Showdown is only hours away. It has been one of the most highly anticipated events of the year, especially with the PGA Tour and LIV Golf working through a peace deal.

All four competitors are accomplished personnel with numerous titles and Major Championships. The betting odds on which team could prevail at the Shadow Creek are out. According to the DraftKings odds, DeChambeau and Koepka could provide stiff competition but fall short.

The LIV Golf duo have a 40% chance of winning The Showdown. The odds are as follows:

  • Team PGA Tour (Scheffler/McIlroy): -150
  • Team LIV Golf (DeChambeau/Koepka): +125

All four participants have had fantastic seasons this year. Bryson DeChambeau secured the US Open title and captained his team to the Team Championship title on LIV Golf in September. Koepka was one of the few players to pick up several titles on Saudi-backed circuit this year.

Rory McIlroy won the Race to Dubai standings as well as DP World Tour Championship after a string of heartbreaking close losses. Meanwhile, Scottie Scheffler has been the star of the show. He won seven PGA Tour titles, Masters green jacket, Players Championship, FedEx Cup, Olympic gold medal and the Player of the Year award tucked securely in his hall of honors.

The Showdown will be an interesting clash of some of the greatest golfers on the circuit.
