Bryson DeChambeau teases the upcoming ‘Break 50’ episode with Tony Romo - "Dropping tomorrow"
Bryson DeChambeau has dropped a sneak peek of another episode of his popular YouTube series Break 50, this time featuring NFL legend Tony Romo. The LIV golfer's series has showcased high-profile collaborations with former US President Donald Trump, social media sensation and former golfer Paige Spiranac, former Masters champion Sergio Garcia, and PGA Tour Champions player John Daly.
The series gained massive popularity, especially after his much-talked-about collaboration with Trump, with the viral video helping the two-time major winner surpass one million subscribers on his channel.
Now, DeChambeau is preparing for another exciting collaboration, this time with the veteran NFL star. He recently shared a short clip on his X (formerly Twitter) account, where he and Romo were seen playing golf, revealing that the new episode was "dropping tomorrow" (September 10). He wrote:
"Break 50 with the legend Tony Romo, dropping tomorrow, what do you think we shot?"
Meanwhile, Tony Romo is making another attempt to earn his PGA Tour card. He is set to compete in the pre-qualifying round of Q-School from September 18 to 20, hoping to secure a card and gain status to compete on the circuit. The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback is an avid golfer and has previously tried to earn a tour card.
However, he withdrew from the pre-qualifier competition after two rounds last year, and in 2018, he made it through the pre-qualifying round but then had a rough outing, shooting 13 over par and failing to make it through the first stage.
Despite these setbacks, Romo is giving it another shot and will compete in the pre-qualifying round later this month at Sand Creek Station Golf Club. Notably, there are four stages of qualification to earn a PGA Tour card: pre-qualifying, first stage, second stage, and final stage. The qualification process begins this month, with the final stage December 12 to 15 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
While there’s hope that fans may see Romo playing on the PGA Tour in the future, for now, they can tune in to Bryson DeChambeau's YouTube channel to watch him play golf.
What is next for Bryson DeChambeau?
DeChambeau is currently enjoying some time off from the golf course, as there were no scheduled events on the LIV Golf calendar following the Greenbrier event. However, the break is coming to an end this week, with the Saudi Circuit players set to tee off at the LIV Golf Chicago event. The tournament is scheduled to take place at Bolingbrook Golf Club from September 13 to 15.
Meanwhile, DeChambeau has had a successful season on LIV Golf and has been impressive in the Majors as well. He claimed the second major of his career at the 2024 U.S. Open and performed well in other Majors, finishing T6 at the Masters and runner-up at the PGA Championship. However, he missed the cut at The Open Championship.
As for his performance on the Saudi Circuit, DeChambeau has competed in 12 tournaments this season, securing six top-10 finishes. His best result on the breakaway series was a tie for third place at the LIV Golf Nashville event. This week, fans will once again see him in action in Chicago.
