WATCH: Byeong Hun An's solid rescue shot from the cart path to make par on No. 1 at Tour Championship
Byeong Hun An is one of the golfers who made it to the top 30 on the FedEx standings and qualified for the last FedEx event, the Tour Championship. On Thursday, An played the first round of the Tour Championship and landed at 69 with two birdies. In the entire round, his third shot on the first hole caught everyone's attention.
Byeong Hun An took the shot from the cart path and the ball traveled down the trajectory to land on the greens, a bit away from the hole. Finally, he took his fourth shot and had an even par on that hole. In the entire round, An made no bogeys. The video of the golfer's shot was uploaded on the PGA Tour's X page. It carried a caption that read:
“Over the trees and onto the green 😵@ByeongHunAn made par from the cart path on No. 1 Thursday,” the poster wrote.
Before this event, Byeong Hun An played in the BMW Championship and the FedEx St. Jude Championship. At the BMW Championship, he finished at T13 with 5-under 283. Before that, he played in the FedEx St. Jude Championship, finishing with 69, 70, 68, and 69 at T33. Hideki Matsuyama won the first FedEx event, with Xander Schauffele taking the second place.
