WATCH: Charlie Woods makes first career ace at 2024 PNC Championship

Team Woods, which is comprised of Tiger Woods and his son Charlie Woods, is dominating at the PNC Championship. They have been yearly competitors in this event dating back to 2020. This year, thanks to a great performance that now includes the young Woods' first official ace, they're in a good spot to potentially win the tournament.

Right now, Charlie and his father are in solo second, but they were the leaders. Team Singh, which comprises golfer Vijay Singh and his son Qass, has taken the lead. With more shots like the one Woods just nailed, that could change again.

Several outlets are reporting that this is the first official ace the young Woods has hit. Woods calmly blasted his tee shot off the par-three and watched as it sailed effortlessly through the air.

Halfway through, the announcers began saying that this had a chance to be a special shot. Before they could even finish praising the approach, the ball landed just a couple of feet shy of the hole and rolled directly in.

Woods and his father embraced after an incredulous Charlie smiled about the improbable shot on the fourth hole. The crowd roared with cheers, too.

Tiger Woods talks about his and Charlie Woods' strong outing

Whether or not Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods will be successful today remains to be seen, but they've played well so far. On December 21, the father-son duo made five consecutive birdies during the back nine to take a share of the lead.

Via ESPN, the elder golfer said:

"We're trying to pull off each and every shot for each other, and to ham-and-egg. And I think we did that great pretty much the entire day. We picked each other up, which was great. And Charlie made pretty much most of the putts today."

Woods made sure to schedule his recent back surgery well enough in advance of the PNC Championship specifically so that he'd have a chance to come out and compete with Charlie. He does so every year, including last year when he'd only recently returned from an ankle fusion surgery.
