WATCH: Hideki Matsuyama escapes golf to pursue photography at the recently concluded Presidents Cup

At the recently concluded Presidents Cup, Hideki Matsuyama and his International Team failed to dethrone the Jim Furyk-led Team USA. The Americans won 18.5-11.5 in the event held at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Quebec, Canada.

However, Hideki Matsuyama did not allow this setback to affect him, as he was seen having a good time with the International Team last Sunday. In a video on the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of the Presidents Cup, the Japanese golfer could be seen taking up photography.

In the caption of the post, the X handle of the Presidents Cup wrote:

"Hideki picked up a new gig on Sunday."

In the video, Hideki Matsuyama is seen photographing International Team his teammates while also having a good time. Apart from the photography and the fun, the International Team can be seen and heard vibing to the Justin Bieber song 'Sorry.'

At the 2024 Presidents Cup, Hideki Matsuyama amassed 2 points. While he could not win the fourball matches he played in, he won one foursome match and lost the other. On the last day of the Presidents Cup, the Japanese managed to shine.

How did Hideki Matsuyama perform on the final day of the 2024 Presidents Cup?

Last Sunday, the Royal Montreal Golf Club witnessed golfers from Team USA and the International Team face each other in a singles competition. Hideki Matsuyama faced World No. 1 golfer and 2024 Tour Championship winner Scottie Scheffler.

While Scheffler was the favorite to win, Matsuyama shocked many as he managed to win 1 up. Beating the World No. 1 in a competition where so much is at stake can be considered a major milestone.

After this victory, Matsuyama was part of a press conference. While he spoke about various topics, one question that stole the spotlight was when he was asked how he managed to beat Scottie Scheffler.

Matsuyama answered:

"Yes, the last putt right there I was super nervous. My hands were shaking a lot. I'm really happy I was able to win this match."

The 32-year-old was also asked to describe what the victory meant to him on a personal level. The PGA Tour professional expressed satisfaction in overcoming the challenge of beating a top-ranked golfer or, in this case, the World No. 1.
