Watch: Justin Rose misses a hole-in-one by inches at the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge

English golfer Justin Rose had an unfortunate miss at the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge. He was playing fairly well at the event, but during the fourth round on Sunday, May 26, he missed a hole-in-one by just a few inches.

In the tournament's final round, Justin Rose had a rough start as he carded four bogeys on the front nine. He was fortunate to have made a birdie on the 11th, and on the par 3 13th hole, he was very close to making an ace.

On this 184-yard hole, off his first shot, the tee ball travelled 183 yards, landing just three inches away from the hole. Rose had a perfect opportunity to make a hole-in-one, but it took him two strokes to get the ball into the hole, resulting in a birdie on the par-3.

The PGA Tour shared a video of Justin Rose's unfortunate miss on its X account with the caption:

"𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙨 from an ace for @JustinRose99!"

Justin Rose shot 66 in the third round but struggled in the final round of the event when he carded 73 and slipped down seven positions on the leaderboard. He ended up finishing in a tie for 32nd place with K.H. Lee, Aaron Rai, Ben Silverman and Ryan Fox.

Davis Riley won the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge by five strokes, taking home his second PGA Tour title. Keegan Bradley and Scottie Scheffler tied for second place, followed by Collin Morikawa, who took the solo fourth place on the leaderboard. Sepp Straka tied for fifth place with Hayden Buckley, Mac Meissner and Pierceson Coody.


Highlights from Justin Rose's performance at the Charles Schwab Challenge 2024

Justin Rose teed it up at the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge on Thursday, May 23, with a bogey on the 13th hole and two back-to-back birdies on the 14th and 15th holes. He shot a double bogey on the par-3 16th hole, followed by a birdie on the 18th.

Rose shot two birdies and two bogeys on the back nine to settle for a score of even par 70. In the second round of the PGA Tour event, he made three birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey to score 1-over par 71, making the cut at the event.

He was impressive in the third round of the Charles Schwab Challenge when he shot a bogey-free round. Rose started the game with a birdie on the third hole and another birdie on the seventh hole.

The Englishman shot two more birdies on the back nine to score 4-under 66. Starting with a bogey on the first hole in the final round of the event, he fired four bogeys on the front nine and one bogey, two birdies on the back nine to score 3-over par 73. He finished 32nd place at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
