Keegan Bradley reflects on victory and emotional outburst at 2024 BMW Championship

Keegan Bradley opened up about his victory celebration on the 18th hole of the 2024 BMW Championship during a post-tournament press conference. A reporter asked him about his emotional response after winning the FedEx Cup Playoffs event.

In his reply, Bradley admitted that he had only had the chance to celebrate his win seven times on the PGA Tour and had experienced a long dry spell without a victory. Therefore, when he won the BMW Championship, he did not want to "underreact to the situation."

"Well, when I'm playing golf, I'm always trying to push my emotions down, good or bad. When I do have a chance to -- winning on the 18th hole, I've only done it seven times, and so I always try to take a second to really enjoy it, not underreact to a situation like that.
"I really want to take everything in because I went a big stretch of my career not winning, and I took it for granted a little bit. To be able to let all that emotion out is what it's all about. It's all those hours of practice away from the family. That's what makes it all worth it," he added.

Keegan Bradley has faced challenging times in his career. He struggled to secure wins on the PGA Tour for six years. After winning the 2012 WGC Bridgestone Invitational, Bradley found it difficult to claim another PGA Tour victory until he won the BMW Championship in 2018.

During this period, he won the CVS Health Charity Classic in 2015 and 2016 but continued to struggle on the PGA Tour. Overall, Bradley has won 12 tournaments in his career, including seven events on the PGA Tour. Last year, he won the Travelers Championship.
