WATCH: Kevin Kisner interrupts Presidents Cup winner’s press conference to deliver beers for his team
US team assistant captain Kevin Kisner left the post-round press conference at the 2024 Presidents Cup to deliver beers to his teammates. The US team maintained its dominance at the recently concluded tournament, winning with a score of 18.5 against the International team's 11.5.
Following the tournament, members of the US Team attended a press conference. However, their vice-captain, in a celebratory mood, left midway to grab beers from the side and hand them to the players on stage.
Golf journalist Gabby Herzig shared the moment on her X (formerly Twitter) account, writing,
"Kisner left the U.S. team press conference momentarily to deliver everyone beers, because, of course he did."
Kevin Kisner had been a strong supporter of Team USA throughout the tournament. In fact, during the opening round, while cheering for his teammate Russell Henley, Kisner humorously asked for beer on the golf course.
On the first day of the Presidents Cup, September 26, Kisner took to his X account to cheer for Henley.
"My boy Russ about to start knocking em down," he wrote.
Riggs from Barstool Sports replied to Kisner's post, saying:
"I got a cold one for you over here on 14!"
Kisner then said he was "on the fairway" and asked the podcast host to bring the beers. The American golfer later added on X that he met up with Riggs.
"I found @RiggsBarstool but he didn’t have a beer. Weirdo."
This victory marks Team USA's 13th at the Presidents Cup. They have not lost a match in the last ten editions of the event.
Kevin Kisner goes shirtless to celebrate Max Homa’s stunning hole-out at the Presidents Cup ahead of the press conference
Ahead of the post-match press conference at the 2024 Presidents Cup on Sunday, September 29, at The Royal Montreal Golf Club, Kevin Kisner removed his shirt to celebrate Max Homa's hole-out during the final round.
In the Sunday singles, Homa holed out on the first hole in a match against Mackenzie Hughes. Although there wasn’t much celebration at the time, once Team USA secured the victory and the players headed for the press conference, Kisner went shirtless and hugged Homa.
This all stemmed from a promise Kisner made to Homa that if he made a hole-out during the team championship, Kisner would celebrate by going shirtless—recreating the celebration of two American caddies at the Solheim Cup.
At the Solheim Cup, Alison Lee and Megan Khang’s caddies had removed their shirts after losing a bet. The caddies had a bet going there that they would go shirtless if their players made a hole-out. In the Saturday fourball match, Lee holed out, and the caddies removed their shirt.
Max Homa showed his support for Team USA at the Solheim Cup by posting on his X (formerly Twitter) account,
"Tarps off!!! Let’s go @SolheimCupUSA," Homa wrote.
Kisner responded in the comments, promising Homa that if he did the same at the Presidents Cup, he would celebrate in the same way. Kisner tweeted:
"I’ll do this in Montreal if you hoop one! Book it!"
To celebrate Homa's hole-out and Team USA's incredible victory, Kevin Kisner kept his word and removed his shirt.
