Matt Fitzpatrick's cross-handed eagle during the third round of the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open left the crowd in awe. The English golfer carded a fantastic eagle on the par-5 third hole of the ongoing tournament on Saturday, July 13.

On this 583-yard hole, Fitzpatrick's first shot traveled 304 yards, followed by another shot of 313 yards to the right intermediate, just 34 yards away from the hole. The third round of the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open has started, and halfway through, Fitzpatrick was tied for 32nd place with a score of -6. He carded an eagle on the third hole, followed by a birdie on the sixth. However, he had trouble on the seventh hole as he shot a bogey. Fitzpatrick completed his game on the front nine and is yet to play the back nine.

While Matt Fitzpatrick was impressive with his cross-handed magic, on Friday, Collin Morikawa tried something new and ended up making a bogey. The right-handed golfer attempted a left-handed shot and missed despite the ball being close to the hole.

The 2024 Genesis Scottish Open is the final tournament before the last Major, and the players finishing in the top three on the leaderboard after four rounds will earn a spot in The Open Championship if not already exempt. It’s the final chance for the players to qualify for the Major.

However, Matt Fitzpatrick and Collin Morikawa have already secured their spots in the Major. Nevertheless, they have their eyes on winning the event before heading to the final Major next week.
