WATCH: Rory McIlroy's troubles at Oakmont continue as 36-YO throws his golf club during Round 4
Rory McIlroy threw another one of his clubs towards the ground at the ongoing U.S Open at Oakmont during his fourth round on Sunday, June 15. The Northern Irish golfer has had a tough week at the Major as the Oakmont Golf course has managed to frustrate even the best of golfers.
McIlroy stood at T49 as he headed into the final round with a 10-over par score. However, he got off to a decent start on the final day as climbed up on the leaderboard with a steady scorecard.

Despite his even-par scores across the majority of the front-nine, the 36-year-old was frustrated about his consecutive bogeys on the Holes 9 and 10. Prior to round four, McIlroy had not held back in showing his frustration as he was seen tossing his club and smashing a tee marker.
During the final round, McIlroy was disappointed at how his shot landed and turned to throw his club. Though he hesitated for a second there, his club toss turned out to be hilarious as it bounced off his golf kit and flew right back at him.
Christopher Powers, a writer for Golf Digest, shared the video of McIlroy's club throw on X and captioned it:

Fans had nothing but appreciation for the golfer's action as they credited him for one of the best club tosses.
McIlroy, who is through 18 holes of his final round, had a steady round with six birdies, including four on the back-nine. He also carded three bogeys in the final round, an improvement from his past rounds at Oakmont this week. He ended his final round with an impressive three-under par 67, climbing up the leaderboard to T26.
How did Rory McIlroy perform in the first three rounds of the 2025 US Open?

The Northern Irish golfer's game during the second round slightly improved despite the two double bogeys he shot on the first three holes. He ended his round with a two-over par score.

McIlroy stood quite low on the scoreboard despite making the +7 cutline. The third round at Oakmont proved worse for him as he carded six bogeys along with two birdies.
