WATCH: Sahith Theegala describes 'almost fainting' after Tiger Woods encounter

Sahith Theegala recently said that he "almost fainted" during his encounter with Tiger Woods. He admitted feeling nervous after the ace golfer wished him a happy birthday.

Theegala is at Albany Golf Club this week for the Hero World Challenge. He was in the middle of his Pro-Am round on Wednesday, December 4, when Woods wished him on his 27th birthday.

On Saturday, December 7, Theegala shared the details of his encounter with Tiger Woods during an in-round interview at the Hero World Challenge.

"Tiger came up to me on hole 10 during the Pro-Am, dabbed me up, and wished me a happy birthday," he said. "Then I had to hit a flighted 8-iron into a 25-mile-per-hour wind in front of him, and I was so nervous!"

Speaking about his first experience at the Hero World Challenge, Theegala said it was a blessing to play there.

"I grew up watching this tournament when it was at Sherwood and fell in love with the game because of it," he said, "Part of that love came from this tournament. I was able to get so close to a lot of the pros because, you know, it’s only 20 guys and not a lot of crowds. I have such great memories of it, and to finally be playing in it is incredible"

The 27-year-old golfer added that it had been a great week in Albany.

"It’s just such a well-run event, and, you know, it’s the Bahamas," he concluded. "How can you hate it here?"
