Fireballs GC's captain Sergio Garcia consoles 22-year-old David Puig at the 2024 LIV Golf Team Championship. The season finale tournament of the Saudi Circuit is underway in Dallas, with its semifinal concluded on Saturday, September 21.
Garcia's team won the quarterfinal by defeating Majesticks GC by an impressive record of 3-0 but struggled with their game on Saturday. They lost the semifinals by 2&1 against Ripper GC.
Fireballs GC lost both of their singles matches and could only win the foursome. From the Fireballs' side, Eugenio Chacarra lost his match against Marc Leishman, while Garcia and Abraham Ancer won the foursome match against Cameron Smith and Matt Jones by 3&1. David Puig lost his match against Lucas Herbert by 1 up.
Recently, Flushing It Golf uploaded a video of Sergio Garcia consoling the 22-year-old on the golf course. The captain listened to the Puig's talk and cheered him up.

Eight teams competed in the semifinals on Saturday, and the winning four will compete for the championship title on Sunday, September 22. Iron Heads GC, Legion XIII, Ripper GC, and 4 Aces won in the semifinals and will be competing for the top four positions on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the teams that lost in the semifinals, Fireballs GC, Hyflyers GC, Crushers GC, and Stinger GC, will compete on Sunday for 5th to 8th positions. Notably, the final will take place in a stroke-play format, where all the players will tee off and the one with the lowest score will top the leaderboard.
The players' positions on the leaderboard will add points to their team scores, and the team with the lowest score among the four semifinal winners will win the 2024 LIV Golf Team Championship.
A look into Sergio Garcia's teammate David Puig's performances in 2024
Puig had some impressive performances in the 2024 LIV Golf season. After playing in 13 tournaments of the season on the Saudi Circuit, he finished in 26th place in the standings.
The Spanish golfer also had one finish in the top 10 this season but recorded some notable finishes such as T11 at the LIV Golf UK, T13 at the Greenbrier event, and T15 in Las Vegas and the Jeddah event.
In addition to his regular LIV Golf events, Puig also qualified for three Majors in 2024. However, he missed the cut at the PGA Championship and The Open and finished in 55th place at the US Open.
The 22-year-old also represented his country at the Paris Olympics alongside Jon Rahm but struggled with his game and tied for 40th place.
Meanwhile, Sergio Garcia has fared well this season. He won the AndalucĂa event and had three runner-up finishes. He also had two more finishes in the top-10, finishing third in the season standings.
