WATCH: Stewart Cink denied an ace by the flag at 3M Open 2024
Stewart Cink is one of the top ten names who made it through the cutline at the 3M Open. The golfer currently sits at T9 with a 7-under. He made one ace in the second round of the 3M Open and just missed another because of a flag.
A video was uploaded by the PGA Tour, where Cink can be seen taking a shot that approaches the hole. But as the ball covered the green, it hit the flag and rolled away from the hole. This clip was shared on X (formerly twitter) with the caption:
“51 years young! A near ace from @StewartCink who is T9 heading into the weekend @3MOpen,” the poster wrote.
In the opening round, Cink shot six birdies on holes 4, 10, 11, 12, 16 and 17. He also had one bogey on the ninth to settle his score at 66. He made three birdies and one eagle in the next round. His total stood at 69 for Friday's round.
The cutline of the 3M Open was 1-under and Stewart Cink's 7-under helped him to go into the weekend at T9. Besides him, other golfers who made it through the cutline at the 3M Open are Taylor Pendrith, Matt NeSmith, Doug Ghim, Andrew Putnam, Jacob Bridgeman, Kurt Kitayama, Justin Lower, and more.
The 3M Open has a purse of $8.3 million and the winner will receive a hefty paycheck and the title.

Stewart Cink tees off at 11:40 am, along with Robert Streb and Maverick McNealy. After them, Justin Lower, Sahith Theegala, and Gary Woodland tee off at 11:51 am. Leader Taylor Pendrith starts at 12:35 pm, which is the last tee time, along with Matt NeSmith and Andrew Putnam. Zach Johnson will start with Harry Hall and Jake Knapp at 9:47 am.
