WATCH: Tom Kim's gesture raises eyebrows amid a heated match against Team USA at the Presidents Cup

Tom Kim once again found himself in controversy at the 2024 Presidents Cup. During the foursome match on Saturday, September 27, the South Korean golfer teamed up with Si Woo Kim to play against Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay.

On the seventh hole, Tom Kim took a shot and believed that a putt was given to him at the hole as he felt it was within the required distance. However, the putt was not conceded. He later approached the hole and measured the distance from the ball to his putter, indicating it was within the range to give the putt.

However, the incident sparked mixed reactions on social media. The PGA Tour shared a video of a frustrated Tom Kim placing his putter on the ground to measure the distance.

However, fans were critical of his behavior and called it "disrespectful."

"Tom Kim’s behaviour has been disrespectful and poor. Has embarrassed himself," a fan wrote.
"Come on kid !! You are showing a lot of class but it’s all 3rd," another fan wrote.

Tom Kim was previously embroiled in controversy during the opening round matches of the 2024 Presidents Cup. In the fourball match against Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley, the South Korean golfer moved ahead after completing his play on the eighth hole, while the American still had to finish his.

Kim's behavior on the greens also drew criticism from the golf world. Golf analyst Paul McGinley spoke out about the incident, saying (Golf Digest):

"That's bordering on bad behavior there. That's disrespectful, in my opinion. I know it's competitive out there, but it certainly shows you there's an underlying edge here that it's not all funs and games."

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim lost the match against Cantlay and Schauffele. After Saturday's round, Team USA extended their lead to 11-5.
