US golfer Bryson DeChambeau recently invited the US presidential candidate and former POTUS Donald Trump to his YouTube show, 'Break 50'. Trump is known to be a golf enthusiast and has played golf with the likes of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy among others and also owns golf courses around the world.

The episode featuring Trump garnered 11.7 million views according to DeChambeau. He said (via Golf.com):

"To date, we have 11.7 million views on the Trump video. The John Daly video we just released has had 4.4 million views. It’s just incredible."

He was asked what he found surprising about Trump's game. DeChambeau had praises for the former president:

"Man, his iron play was great. I can’t tell you the number of times he stuffed it on the green within 30 feet of regulation. His driver swing is the most repeatable thing I have ever seen. I wish mine was that repeatable. Really, I do."

During Donald Trump's tenure as US president, he was criticized by mainstream media and several top stars from different fields for his controversial statements. When McIlroy played a round of golf with him for a video, the golfer was heavily criticized as well.

This eventually led McIlroy to claim he would not play with a president again. The focus of the video was raising money for a veteran's charity, the Wounded Warrior Project.

Referencing the criticism faced by McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau was asked whether he had some concerns about how some sections of his audience would receive the episode with Trump. He answered:

"It’s sad some people feel that way. First of all, that video was great golf content, and secondly, it raised a quarter of a million dollars for a veteran’s charity (the Wounded Warrior Project). That was the main focus of the video. Of course, Trump is a figure and a character, and we need some of those [colorful] moments. John Daly is a character as well. That’s what makes good videos."

DeChambeau joined LIV Golf in June 2022. Trump has been a big endorser of the Saudi-backed league ever since its inception in 2022. Many LIV Golf events were hosted on courses owned by Trump. The 2022 LIV Golf Team Championship was played at Trump National Doral, Miami, as well.
