"We keep it fairly simple"- Rickie Fowler shows off his unique golf bag ahead of the Valero Texas Open

Rickie Fowler will be competing at the 2023 Valero Texas Open, which got underway on March 30 and will run until April 2. He will be playing in the tournament with the hope of winning the title and earning an invite to the Masters.

The PGA Tour recently posted a video of Rickie Fowler showing his unique golf bag. The clip started with Fowler saying:

"Yeah, we keep things fairly simple. I mean, we've got head cover. Ben, out head Tour guy cobra, his daughters did that up, threw that on. Ben stamped this. I've got Maya and the state of California in there.

"Yeah, we got the AJGA bag tag. Played the AJGA for a few years when I was a junior and they sent that when she was born. And yeah, it's kind of fun to be able to rock that. I mean the bag tags, its like your graduation year and that was something that all the juniors, you know, have the bag tag."

He added:

"You always have it on your bag, kind of like your stamp of approval that you play the AJGA. And so that would be fun to have her along for the ride there and we'll see if she, you know, ends up taking up golf or not. Who knows, she could have one of her own at some point. But yeah, like I said, we keep it fairly simple. But a few little things ... you know whether it's family related, friends, but yeah that's about it."

Rickie Fowler will join the Valero Open field scheduled to take place this week and if he wins the event, he will receive an invitation to the 2023 Masters.

It is important to note that the Valero Texas Open is now the only way left for golfers to earn an invitation to The Masters. The Texas Open is scheduled to take place from Thursday, March 30 to Sunday, April 2 at the TPC San Antonio.

Noticeably, last year's champion, JJ Spaun, will also be back on the field to defend his title. The event has a purse of $8.9 million with the winner taking home a check for $1,607,000.
