“We’re looking at a young Tiger Woods right here” - PGA Tour pro tips 15-yo Miles Russell to be the next 15x major winner
PGA Tour pro Raul Pereda opened up about 15-year-old Miles Russell, who is set to make his PGA Tour debut at the Rocket Mortgage Classic 2024. Miles Russell has been making headlines for playing in a professional PGA Tour event at such a young age. His abilities on the course have brought forth comparisons with the legendary Tiger Woods.
Recently, Raul Pereda compared Russell to Tiger Woods, calling him a young version of the legendary golfer. Pereda was highly impressed with Russell's technique on the golf course and lauded the young prodigy in his interview with PGA Tour officials. He said (via Thegolfinggazette.com):
“We’re looking at a young Tiger Woods right here. He’s got the nippers, the big flop shots. He’s got the high-and-soft shot, the perfect sound out of the bunker shots. The bump-and-runs, the one-hop-stop. I’ve seen it all with him.
“That kid is a prodigy. How he’s developed as an athlete in such a short period of time that I’ve gotten to know him, I’m amazed. I want to be around his life for a long time, not because of what he’s going to do, but how he’s going to carry himself as he does it," he added.
Miles Russell will make his PGA Tour debut at the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic on Thursday, June 27. The tournament will conclude with the finale on Sunday, June 30.
