Nelly Korda reacts to Player of the Year win
There hasn't been much doubt about who the best player in women's golf has been this year, but the award was officially handed out on November 4. Nelly Korda was cemented as this year's top star.
She said via the LPGA Tour of her win:
“Winning the Rolex Player of the Year means so much to me. This season has had its highs and challenges, and I'm just really grateful for the people around me who have helped me get here. It’s been a team effort, and I’m proud to share this moment with them.”
Korda had a streak of five consecutive wins at one point during the season. The LPGA Tour record is six in a row, but she fell short of that. The golfer has two Majors and 19 career wins. 14 of those came on the LPGA Tour and three on the Ladies European Tour.
Korda was also an Olympian in 2024, though she did not defend her gold medal from the Tokyo Olympics with another victory in Paris. Nelly Korda also played for the United States in the Solheim Cup, helping them achieve a victory that doesn't count for her personal season count.
